The last monkey in the basement section can be caught immediately upon entering the room with a little trick.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is a monkey under your feet at the start of the room but you can knock him down from up here.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When you hit him down, he bounces upwards and pops up through the floor for one single frame during which you are able to catch him.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The easy way to do this is to use the RC car.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
place down the car (don&#039;t swap to another gadget afterwards), jump and ground pound to destroy it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Right as it explodes you want to spaw to the Time Net to catch it. With the RC car you have three frames to swap to the net.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If the car doesn&#039;t explode, you changed to the net too early (net cannot deal damage and thus won&#039;t destroy the car).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If the car explodes but you don&#039;t catch the monkey, you were either too far away, had a bad angle or you were too late on swapping to the net.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The hard way to do this is to use the club (or any non net gadget for that matter).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You can jump and ground pound above the monkey and the moment you bonk the monkey you want to swap to the net.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
this method should be avoided because you only have one single frame to swap to the net and the RC car method is barely any slower.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The fast way to do this is to immediately hoop upon entering the room and running over to the upper half of the grating on the floor on the 2nd last row (see picture).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

You want to start by running towards the very right edge of the bridge. once you&#039;re on the peak of it, do a [[AE1/tricks#Neutral Double Jump|Neutral Double]] over to the monkey and catch him.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you mess up your movement and don&#039;t catch him immediately, he will follow the yellow line drawn in the picture and you will have to get over to the mainland to catch him.&lt;br /&gt;

From the first monkey you want to turn 180 and short hop (quick tap of the jump button) into the water and swim along the drawn line on the image.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&#039;&#039;(note that swimming is faster than running on land so you want to stay in the water as long as possible).&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Neutral Double over the gap and then run towards the second monkey and jump catch him quickly.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you miss the catch, he will jump down into the water and swim to the left.&lt;br /&gt;

This catch is kind of cool. you have two ways of doing this but in short you walk off the edge and swing your net to catch the monkey in the water.&lt;br /&gt;

This is a bit trickier but coming from where you caught Monkey 3 you can either do the [[AE1/Primordial Ooze#Ground Pound Catch|Ground Pound Catch]] or the [[AE1/Primordial Ooze#Slope Jump|Slope Jump]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Slope Jump is technically faster but the Ground Pound Catch is easier.&lt;br /&gt;

&#039;&#039;(note that if you miss the ground pound catch you cant try it again as the monkey has moved from his position, you then must do the slope jump).&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;

The last monkey in the Any% route is usually caught with a ground pound.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
On the wall you can see light and dark stripes. you want to align yourself on the 2nd light stripe from the left.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After you swim to this spot you want to double jump and at the peak of your jump do a ground pound with the net.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you miss him, don&#039;t bother trying again because now he is running around instead of being in place. Instead see the Slope Jump method.&lt;br /&gt;

=== Slope Jump ===&lt;br /&gt;
Technically a faster way to catch the last Any% monkey.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The easy way to do this is to normal swim (don&#039;t hold R1/2) into the corner, you&#039;ll see spike pop up from the water for a moment.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During that moment you want to double jump up to the ledge.&lt;br /&gt;

The harder but faster way has you swim into the corner with speed (make sure you&#039;re on the surface of the water).&lt;br /&gt;

Right before you hit the corner you want to jump, the slope should help you move up quicker.  After flying up, double jump right to the monkey.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
With this method you can get enough height to skip the ledge grab, but this is considerably harder.&lt;br /&gt;
