Double Jump

The quickest movement in this game is constantly double jumping. You need to have forward momentum before the first jump. The second jump should be right before touching the ground.

Capturing Monkeys

The quickest way to capture monkeys is to capture them from their front, but monkeys often dodge the capture. It is far more consistent to get from the side or back especially if they are in the middle of an animation. A slower alternative is the use whatever attack the monkey has and then capture. Attack times vary per monkey.

Infinite Fly

By quickly tapping X twice while controlling the Blue SAL monkey you can gain height without jumping from the ground. By delaying the second X press you gain less height but gain more horizontal movement. If you are falling from a great height and you perform this trick before you hit the ground, you'll get a significant boost of horizontal speed. This trick will be used in Dokodemo Trapland (revisit), Mori No Oki Fortress, BiriBiri Electronic Base, and Dekasugiru Satellite.

Glitches

Frog Clip

It is possible to clip through the wall in Zeppekida Castle. It is not known how this works. It does not seem useful in speedruns as there is a death plane behind it.

Fast Monkey White

Somehow, it is possible to do extra damage to defeat Monkey White without the third gear cycle. It is not known how it works, but has been done twice.
